Recharging
Strutting around in a hotel robe
Mesmerizing
Attracted to little complimentary soap
Intoxicated
clean, cold sheets against my skin
Heavenly
aroma of the 6oz gratuitous coffee in a little tin
Liberation
Putting the cell phone on vibrate for the night
Disaffiliate
Check the last email then close the laptop tight
Contemplating for just a moment
living out of a small suitcase
traveling like a minimalist nomad
moving from place to place.
Quickly comes real-world sensibility
….
Reality
The responsibility of work and family
Repression
bills and the grind of social status
LIFE, eagerly I get back to it.
This I know a little, the respite but an intrusion

This poem for me Joseph, sums up the phrase “stop the world I wanna get off” the daily treadmill of life. But like the previous Podium piece, there’s that wonderful shoulder shrugging acceptance that such is life and get on with it, that only by accepting can you start living. Great form Joseph, thank you.

Thanks again Nigel. Thank you so much for taking the time to critique as well. It’s always nice to hear (whether good or bad) what or how it is read by others. Much appreciated.

It’s a pleasure to read Joseph, your style is completely different to mine yet stimulates thought and feeling in great measure within me and that is, in my personal view, the essence of poetry.

Absolutely. If we all had the same style it would be bland. Plus we would all be ripping each other off. It’s that slight diversity we have that keeps it all genuine art.

This gave me a huge smile. So relatable.
Although I may not have the responsibilities of difficult work or immediate family. 🤔 still, all those things are so inexplicably adored

Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Whenever I go away for work and I’m put up in a hotel I get such a kick out of no responsibility… But I’m sure it would get old if I had to do it everyday.

I am extremely pleased along with the 5ay61s2 http://5ay61s2.tk/ seem, . I ordered my friend-in-law a one. They’re fashion and good and also have a structured tailored look. They can be also easily interchangeable for younger as nicely as older persons.
